Default Need some tips for driving my 98 VT on factory LPG

    Gday guys
I have a 98 VT executive on factory gas and i need some tips for driving it
I do about 50-100km's driving each day to work and uni, and being the cheap ass that i am i seem to only use gas, but is this bad for the engine? i never fill up my unleaded tank, so i always start on gas and just let it run from there
Should i start on unleaded, then swap to gas after its started? i cant swap while im driving since i have to be in neutral
Any other tips would be SCHMIIIIIK!

    Cheers

    1. Keep the car serviced (spark plugs and leads need to be replaced at the first sign of backfiring)
    2. No real need for petrol use. I've tested these engines for over 200 000km with no petrol use without detrimental effects to valves etc. Just make sure the petrol doesn't get too old in the tank. Use it up every 3 months or so. It's always good to have a few litres in the tank in case you ever have a problem.
The only time you might need petrol is starting the engine in the snow, or if you are towing something very heavy.

Otherwise, enjoy the benefits of paying 47.5 cents per litre of LPG. Once you've had it, you will never go back.

I dont know where you are but I would have to go back a fair bit in time to see LPG at 47c as it has been 60c in QLD for a year or more.

DeLorean was the time machine of choice in the movie "back to the future"

You blokes are being ripped off. LPG is exactly that price at BP in Padstow, Sydney today. Was 48.5c last week, and 48.9c a few weeks before that. I bet I could find it cheaper too.

46.9c is the cheapest sydney price I can find.

44.3c here in VIC, and sometimes cheaper,
i just keep a small amount of petrol in the tank just incase, and it helps the car start in the mornings, takes a while if its starting on gas.

Its a shame as I have been looking at it as my last 2 cars have been carbied lpg cars and was pretty happy with them.

Quotes to install in this "new car" even with the grant shows lpg for the miles I do to be borderline at best.
