OK best way to describe the problem would be a very very rough idle to the point it feels like its going to conk out when i put my foot down it constantly surges and has next to no power

if there is not enough info just ask question

does the engine die at all, had a mate who had a similar problem and he ended up having his injectors and throttle body cleaned out cause they were just black and clogged up runs way better now (then again it was a Hyundai Tuscon!)

I would start with basic things like changing spark plugs and leads. It could also be a faulty coil or injector.

This is not your problem but That pipe that came off the throttle body
Best to change it and put hose clamps on it as they just sit there

sounds like a fault in the ignition system. Coil, leads or plugs. Check the simple things first as a faulty coil or lead can cause the symptoms you describe. I've seen the exact same thing happen to a car and turned out to be a hairline crack in a distributor cap that was barely visible to the eye.

I'm getting the same problem in my VX.
It idles and cruises fine but when I put my foot down a bit for the auto to kick down it just shudders for a few seconds then goes fine.
