Default Center Light + above door lights - Calais style

Hey, i have a VT S-Pack S2 just wondering if you can put in the lights above the back doors where the Jesus bar is like on the Calais etc. and also the center one where it has reading lights if it can be changed without added more wires etc

    feedback would be great!

    sus,

1 - the centre dome light is a straight swap with the calais centre dome light. Once it is screwed in it will work perfectly, plus the two extra spot lights on the dome light.
2 - The rear courtesy lights that sit inbetween the roof handles on the rear. Wiring needs to be added for these to operate. I've recently completed this upgrade. It was a bit of a pain. I found a wire loom from a berlina. I cut off the wires that ran to the rear courtesy lights and spliced them into my current wiring harness for my executive. This is the only way the system will function correctly. Unfortunetly the berlina wiring harness has an extra wire, therefore won't work correctly if plugged in, in place of executive harness. The three wires are an orange with black line, white with blue line and a black with blue line i think. They are the same on the executive harness so it's a simple splice into these three wires to get the back courtesy lights working.

I am in the process of replacing all of my lights with LED/Xenon

Replace the globe in the centre roof light with an LED panel and you get bright WHITE light in the cabin

The reason that they don't work when swapped over is because the looms are wired differently. The pins on the connectors of the two different lights are actually in a different order. However the plugs at the other end of the loom near the drivers chair are wired the same so it's just direct plug and play to swap the loom.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a VT wagon for my business and I'm using the interior from a VT Olympic edition wagon which has a MID level BCM. I checked the wiring near the drivers chair and the purple wire already exists in the loom meaning that with plug and play you should be able to directly plug the loom in and away you go. I'm hoping my other VT (also with a MID level BCM because it's fitted with traction control and cruise control) has the wiring there too so it all works properly.

Not sure about LOW level BCMs though but I'm kinda thinking that since Execs have the wires for power windows already in them to the pillars that it would most likely be there too.

    Mick,

Thats the exact problem I had. Was missing the purple 5th wire. Executive roof harness only had four wires (low BCM). When I plugged in the berlina harness to the executive floor clip/wire i noticed there was no 5th wire on the other side. The dome and rear lights still worked but only with door open and close. They didn't work when buttons pressed. If someone knows which wires could be rearranged or spliced to get the full function, then this could help people updating their executive povo pack interior lights to the berlina/calais interior lights without to much trouble.

    Ricky,

What modifications do you need to do to get the LEDs to work in the dome.?

    MR_VX,

it will not work correctly on your vehicle unless you have a Mid level BCM. So if you have cruise control or similar you may have the 5th wire (purple) for the berlina/calais roof harness to work. The plug is located on the drivers side pillar next to the floor. Remove the side plastic moulds, as well as the floor mould that runs from the front to the rear seat. Then you will be able to see the plug and wires coming down from the roof. If you have 5 wires joining your plug from the floor then it should work for you. But if yours is the same as mine you will only have 4 wires in the plug on both sides which won't work with berlina/calais roof harness.
