Hey there
I have a 98 VT clubsport With the 304 engine and have been noticing a worn bearing type sound when turning, its fine when im going straight but the sharper the turn the louder it is, i thought it maybe the power steering pump, but its not leaking and the oil is full. I thought it might be the tyres as i work at a tyre store and have two different sorts of directional tyres front and rear, and directional tyres do tend to be noisier on the road, so i rotated them and it was better.
I changed the front tyres to and Asymetric tyre that are quiter on the road and its still there
after all this my heads saying its the wheel bearings but i checked the front hubs and theres i no play up or down or side to side and the wheel spins freely without noise
its got me stumped
Please help
worn out power steering rack???
mine did the same thing then a couple of months later the front left tie rod end had movement in it
does the noise happen when turning left and right or just one way?
both ways but turning right is a bit louder
most times the vr on type wheel bearing/hub assembly wont have any movement in it but it can be stuffed, not saying this is it but something to look at thurther maybe.
