hey just wondering if it is at all possibile to adjust the camber on rear wheels to prevent inside of tyre wearing, i have 19x35x245's all round.
the rear camber is fixed. meaning it can not be adjusted,
HOWEvER, there are camber kits.
they replace the bushs on the lower control arms and depending on how low you go you can get just the 2 inner bushs or all 4 bushs.
I am running pedders sports ryder springs and running a nice set of 18s, that dropped it bout 35 mm and a 2 point camber kit was more then enough. As a mechanic i would say the Camber kit is one of the most toughest, time consuming jobs iv faced.I was trying everything to remove the old bush, in the end, i melted it with an oxy. Anyway, i recommend pedders camber kits, About 70 trade, they are the 2 bolt system so wont strip the thread, also they coast about 200 or so to be installed. hope this helps.
sure does thanks heaps
If you have a bite more time/patience, get a diff cradle, and lower control arms out of a later model sedan. Anything post VX2 will be perfect. This allows for further adjustment again. The best pedders could do in my VT, with their coilovers, was -2 deg. Ill be taking it back in next week, once i finish fitting the newer cradle, and should be able to get it sorted. The issue is with the suspension design. It will never be perfect, as even a tank of fuel can alter the camber on these god awful IRS systemsJust have to make the best of it where we can.
or use the search button and find 1,000's threads on camber issues and solutions
altho camber contributes to tyre wear it is the toe that chews the inner edge of the tyre, if the toes set correctly you can get away with 2.5% camber and have minimal wear.
