Hello All,
I recently found a 3 window trip computer that was in storage and was wondering is there a way to find out the mileage on it without having to wack it into a car? Also is there a way to adjust the mileage to suit the car it will go in? Would I need the aid of a Tech2 Tool? Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks,
Kind Regards,
Dan

Thanks 88GreenVN,
I emailed him and I'll see what he says.
yes u'll need the tech 2, 2 do it. u could power it up on the bench 2 find out the ODO but it'll b easier and quicker 2 install it into the car lol but u may run the risk of setting the air bag fault off if its from a higher end BCM then urs? but u can easily fix that by resetting the fault log. If the back housing is white it can b change at any stage but if its black it can only b changed if it hasnt gone over 100kms.

Thanks for the replies, email Rob, and I've sent the unit away to get calibrated. Thanks again.
To find out the kms there's a much easier way...
Just get a 9 Volt battery and connect pin numbers 6 (GND) and 20 (+12V) on the back of the cluster - it's that easy! The pin numbers are marked in the plastic.
To make it easier you could buy a 9V battery connector (i.e. that connects to the battery terminals and has two wires coming off it) from an electronics shop etc. You don't need to plug the cluster in to the car or use Tech2 to do this.
