    Default Battery going flat randomly.

hey guys.. i dont know whats wrong with my car..

    quick run down..

about 2 years ago the car would randomly go flat. (after parking it for about 2 hours)
this happened a few times. but after changing the battery with a truck battery it stop dying on me.

until sunday. parked it for under and hour and the battery went flat again. (dead flat)
but the day before i was cranking music for a good 3 hours and was able to start the car first time.

any ideas whats wrong with it?
im thinking of giving up and just throwing an optima in there.

Go to a battery place, they should check battery and alternator for free.

i had a quick read of that thread. and i think im in a slightly different boat.

as my car does charge. because since sunday its been dayly driven..

the other person drives it as a week end car which seems like its a old battery.

havent tested how much its drawing when off but after it dies and i jump it.. it goes back to working normaly, as in, doesnt go flat on me anymore, starts every time, allows me to crank my music for hours and still start.

might have an electrical wire shorting somewhere, but this problem has been gone for almost 2 years and now its back.

Well 1stly u still need 2 get a multimeter and check wat ur voltage out put is off the battery with out it started. Then get another while the cars idling from the battery, and then same again but this time test it from the back of the alternators B+ 2 the batterys ground or another grounding point and tell us wat the readings r? sounds 2 me either ur alternator isnt charging properly and the regulator needs replacing or somthing is drawing 2 much current.
