I drive a vx series 2 executive with slotted disc rotors.
Only in the last month, have I started to notice after driving a really hot smell coming from the right ear tyre area. I have had the slotted disc rotors on for about 2-3 months prior to this hot smell starting.
I have checked the handbrake, just to make sure its not riding the brake whilst driving and I can see nothing rubbing around the hole area, i do not seem to loose any performance in braking.
What else could I look at, or possible be, cause I never noticed this hot smell before since rotating my yokahama c drives front to back.
Any suggestions?
Does the rotor on that side have a bluish tinge to it? If so it could be the caliper that is sticking, holding the pads against the rotor. You may need to service the caliper. By that I mean remove it, dismantle it, lubricate the slides and fit a new seal kit.
