I have had a low engine idle since fitting extractors.
The engine idled at about 900rpm before, but now more like 600rpm & car now vibrates at the lights etc.
V6 Ecotec Auto Calais. Someone suggested pulling some ECU fuise for 1/2 an hour but I don't know what to try ?? Suggestions anyone

900rpm is too high. Is it auto or manual? Is this in neutral or drive?
For an auto the correct idle speed is 725 + or - 50 in neutral, 650 + or - 50 in drive, so if your 600 rpm is in drive, it is quite normal.
For a manual it is 775 + or - 50.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
No it is too low. Can anyone advise how to lift it please.

if you change the idol the gear changes are going to be all over the place and use more fuel
gear mounts and iac fixed mine
and maybe some other stuff?sensors, plugs, leads, coils etc it will keep your car running much better and more efficient
THIS IS AN AUTO..... not manual.
I want a lift in idle speed of not much more that 70-100 rpm when in Drive.
I have replaced the engine mounts, cleaned the IAC, tested the coils, replaced the plugs & leads.
BE CLEAR HERE. The car runs fine. Smooth, no misses or heavy fuel consumption, lots of power, good throttle response etc etc.
THE IDLE IS TOO LOW. A slight increase in idle speed will solve my vibration issue.
HOW DO I DO THIS? IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS THE ANSWER ?

Open your bonnet and read the red sticker above where your radiator sits. This clearly tells you that you CANNOT change your idle RPM and also tells you that 600RPM is perfectly normal.
The only way you might be able to get it changed is to get someone to flash your ECU.
STOP being a dick to everybody in your thread. STOP being a rude ass and listen when people offer you advice. If you don't want help, don't post. If you do want help, read what people have to say because the CORRECT way to fix your issue is probably in one of their answers.

Oh now I'm a dick. I asked a simple question hoping I might get some intelligent responses. Guess not. I haven't bad mouthed anyone. SO HEY DON"T BAD MOUTH ME.

Oh and Mick if you haven't got anything positive to add DON"T POST EITHER. I can read perfectly well, I know exactly what the sticker says. Now can you read my original post ? This issue arose after fitting extractors, the idle speed has dropped significantly immediately afterwards. Was fine before.....now TOO LOW.

Hi try resetting ecu by pulling of neg battery terminal for half an hour, as mentioned before, if this does not help then try an error code check. The base idle can be reset but you will need a gregorys for this, cheers Bob.
adjust the idol screw on the throttle body
Not sure whether to take that as Sarcasm or not, but if you were being serious, then your an idiot! If it was, then my apologies.adjust the idol screw on the throttle body
To the OP Make sure you check your 02 sensors and make sure they aren't buggered, also make sure no naked wires are showing on them. No one here can give you a direct answer, if we can't help take it to a mechanic!
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
The idle is set by the ECU, it control the IAC and other parts to make the idle speed, the only real way to change this is to get the car retuned.
I would try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour as mentioned, bearing in mind to give your car a couple of days to 'relearn' itself. If that does not fix anything then have a look for any leaks around the EGR pipe, O2 sensors or the exhaust manifold gasket.

i bet its worse when cold
mines an auto in d at lights idols at about 500 smooovvee assss
check if you can see the spring on the iac either way get a new 1 $70 coil and dfi $212
youve gotta wonder why your car is the only one that needs the idol raised?
tighten the accelorator cable
otherwise get some bags fitted and pump it up at the lights
heres an idea. if ur not going to listen to people then just take ur extractors off and put the old ones back on seeing as how it was all good before..
Now firstly don't get bent out of shape, a lot of people have taken their time to try and help you,
accentstencil is correct in the figures he posted so you must have had a fault before which you have now corrected
As low vs said adjust the idle screw on the throttle body. the correct procedure is with engine warm but not hot, switch engine off, remove plug to IAC and adjust to 450rpm to 550 rpm then switch off and reconnect IAC plug, (for your particular problem you may need to set higher) but the ECU controls the idle speed and may not like it.
To fit extractors you have probably moved the O2 sensors which should not affect idle speed. You mention a lot of other work, did you do this at same time as extractors or to try and "fix" your idle problem
With extractors and moving the O2 sensors the ECU will need to learn the new fuel trims which may take a few small trips
The issue has now been fixed. Oh and it was nothing mentioned here. To those who have contributed intelligent & constructive suggestions, Thank you. To the other smart arsed ########s OMG what a bunch of bloody losers.

How did ya fix it man?
I am also interested on how this problem was fixed but after seeing what peoples replys were I wasn't going to bother. I have had new extractors installed and bought o2 sensors and iac. i think mine revs closer to 400rpm.
