Newguy hoping someone might be able to help me with a problem with my VX 2 Lumina (V6,Auto,LPG,140,000kms).
I bought the car off my father inlaw after he got a new car. He's over 70 and the car has had a gentle life (just trips around town).

I've noticed a slight thumping noise (which seems to be coming from behind) which seems to be speed related (not tyres as I've replaced them with no change). Its not a loud noise but drives me crazy when I do a long trip. The noise is worse under very light throttle openings (cant be heard under heavy throttle).

The car was at the local garage for service recently and could not visually fault the propshaft, or diff.

The car has what sounds like diff noise over 90km/h only under load (ie going up a gentle incline).

Does this sound like the diff or propshaft centre bearing??
