cant i put a memcal in my s2 Holden Vt? V6?

is it true i cant buy a tuned memcal and put it in my car?

Yes on the VT series 1, VT series 2 and VX series 1 you can fit a tuned memcal, as long as the base program they start with matches the 4 letters on your PCM sticker (e.g. for my car "CJKW" means a VT series 1 V6 Supercharged).

On the VX series 2 and onwards they went to flash memory, so i don't know what the deal is on those.

I'm no expert but so hopefully someone else can confirm.

Sorry to bring up and old thread, just wanted to know if anyone can confirm if a VX Series I ECU is the same as a VT?

I've done allot of googling but haven't found a definate answer.

so a memcal can be put into a series 1 vx... was that your question?

If you're looking to swap the whole PCM then no. The pinout arrangement in the harness is different. As above though you can have your memcal retuned.

I was fairly sure all the VX V6's (except supercharged) used the flashROM PCM?

nope only vx series 2 up used the flashrom pcm

The Holden Service and Maintenance CD shows that all VX series V6s (non-supercharged) had the EEPROM (Flash memory) PCM. Are you saying that the CD is incorrect ?
