    Question Requesting Advice

Well I'm kind of a n00bie when it comes to cars, so I thought I'd ask all of you for some advice. I bought my parents' Red VX Commodore Lumina. It's all pretty stock except I bought 4 new Orion speakers and a Clarion head-unit.

I want to get it lowered, get a sub/amp, get the holes in the boot from the spoiler filled properly, get new wheels and tyres, a new exhaust and some monaro tail lights and probably some other things I cant think of right now. It's also due for a service soon. Also some engine parts that would enhance the performance slightly. I dont want to go too over the top and make it look like the usual p-plater s***box though.

Was just looking for some opinions on what order I should get it all done in and some probable prices for each thing.

    Cheers

Sounds like a good car to start playing with! First thing I would probably do is to get the holes filled in the boot. The longer you leave them the bigger potential for rust! Just a suggestion, if you don't want it to look like a typical P-platers car as you say, what about instead of the monaro tail lights you get the boot garnish off a Calais/Berlina instead for a different look? I am biased but I think it is a much better look that the monaro lights on a commodore! I'd probably go for wheels and lowering next. Your handling will thank you!! Then I would move on to the stereo (as long as the set up you have in there at the moment is ok!)

Either way mate it is your car, do things in the order that you want! Each to their own!

I have the CV8 tail lights (black, not chrome), and had the headlights as well. I think they look good. As for some mods for making the engine perform a bit better, you want to make the thing breathe but (as a p-plater) not be too noisy out the tailpipe (yes loud sounds good sometimes, although it can get frustrating when you don't want to be noticed by coppers, or wake the neighbours, if you want less attention go for less noise), I'd suggest CAI upgrade, extractors, exhaust as a starting point. Also get the brakes upgraded to slotted rotors

Yeah I think the tail lights can wait for now, so I'm thinking maybe get it lowered first cause it's as high as a 4wd lol then get them boot holes fixed because as you said it's pretty susceptable to rust.
I'm pretty happy with the stereo for now, even though it would be 10x better with a sub(s) it's not a necessity.

Yeah I was thinking about just getting the normal red tail lights, I don't like the chrome ones. I think the first performance upgrade would probably be an exhaust, but as you said nothing too outragous. Then probably CAI upgrade.
