according to redbook average kms for a vx aclaim is 140,000 - 230,000 so that is fairly low

My two bosses both have VT's. one with 280k's on it, the other with 260 I think, Both of them get a hiding and between them only repairs have been drivers seat, door handle and a glove box. Plenty for sale around here with 400+k's. They go forever. Higher k's gives you more bargaining power as well
Wow that makes my 247,000km look like it's just been run in!
I have heard of VT taxis getting up to 700,000km, so i suppose it's all about how often/well they're serviced and looked after. If it's running hot more often than not (like cabs do) it'll last longer. Cold morning starts can hurt the engine, something i can appreciate here in Bathurst when we get down to -6°C and lower in the winter months.
Yeah the cold starts aren't great, I usually let it warm up for 10mins if it's a nasty cold morning, and we have serviced it every 10,000km since we got it when it was barely 12 months old. Plus most of my driving is country, save for the 5 mins of Penrith driving at the end of my commute, gives it a good 25 mins of just cruising at 60 or 80 kph.
And it's mostly original, except for the radiator and front suspension, it's only sort of this year where little things keep needing coin spent on them. But nothing major at all. And yeah I have also heard of VT's going past 500,000 with no real issues.

My 2001 VX S (which I had since New) had 189,000km on it until somebody wrote it off for me and that took 9yrs. But it's replacement 2002 VX charged S had only 87,000km on the clock.
500,000km that's awesome!! (that would take me another 20years...)
