it may have been an option - maybe check the VIN against the hand book - it may say how many air bags it has.

Correct, there were no airbags in the doors / pillars

An easy way to tell if your car has them - On the C pillar exterior trim it will have SRS airbag silkscreened.

If its an executive chances are it only has a drivers airbag unless it was optioned up.

If it doesm it will have SRS Side Impact Airbag stamped in white writing on the black plastic panel between the two opening windows. If it doesn't already have power windows, the chances of it having side airbags are almost zero. The airbags are in the side of the seats anyway but either way you should disconnect your battery before touching ANY wiring.
