Default Are there any better springs than Kingspring ?

    guys,

looking at getting another set of lowered springs for my VT exe , happy with the height of Kings , Super Low fronts and Ultra Low rears , they made VT sit dead level

but not happy with the ride quality , bit bumppy and harsh

so, looking for another set of lowered springs that will make the car sit the same height at the Kings but better ride quality ,

so, are there any ? Brand ?

any feed back would be great

    cheers

if you buy coilovers that adjust at the leg not at the spring then you have a preloaded spring so you will maintain shock stroke and most coilovers with this set up have shock adjusters which can make the ride even smoother

That's just the way it is. You compromise ride quality for ride height. If you can justify spending a couple of grand on coilovers just for ride quality, then go for it.

you can buy 'better brands' of springs but i think the result will largely be the same... oh and quicker rear tyre wear

the 3 main brands king, pedders & lovells are pretty much the same, as not an abba fan said you compromise ride quality for height, an after market lowered coil has a higher spring rate than a standard oe coil so it doesnt compresses as much because of the lower ride height.

You haven't said what shocks you are running with your Kings springs.
Running the right shocks could make a big difference to ride quality.

    Guys,

Thanks for all the inputs , i'm running Monroe GT Sports shocks with Kings and also running 17in wheels (not 19s or 20s)

and can't justify spending a couple of grand on coilovers after spent almost a grand on Monroe and Kings

    Cheers

I agree with Surfwagon. Good chance your shocker might be bottoming out due to your lower springs, this will give you a harsh ride.

You're a twit. Coil overs wont make his car ride better.

Most coil over kits come with spring rates 5 times that of a bloody super low king, So they'll rattle your teeth out and drill your spine. Been there done that, here to tell you it isn't worth the BS.
