this is the first time its happened.
I was stationary at the lights, when they turned green i took off but had to push it (power button was on as well) a lot as the hill was very steep.
as the revs reached close to red line the oil light came on then switched off as i made it up the hill.
Thoughts guys?
have you checked its got oil in it?
Oil light on usually means low oil pressure=low oil unless your car was nearly vertical in which case try avoiding near vertical hills and walls. Commodores don't normally like climbing walls
thats the thing though, when i got back oil was between the 2 marks.
well the hill was rather steep more than 45 degrees any way, and i did push it rather hard. just checking if this was normal, have you guys experienced this on hills?
VT 5.7L LS1.... between the 2 marks means you are lower than the normal.
I always overfill the LS1/2 by 500ml --> 1Litre due to known issues with the sump design, oil pickup & oil surge under heavy G... So cornering, breaking & acceleration.![]()
