(moderators please remove one of my posts I think I have posted this twice, cheers)
Hi guys I joined a while back, but have not been on a whole lot. So please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong forum.
I experianced a problem with the auto in my VT today. I was driving down the freeway at 100 and all of a sudden it dorpped down to seccond or third, It just wont change up.
I checked the old gregories manual for what to check and want not, and then checked the trans fluid leval. The leval seemed to right, but the colour was a little off.
So I decided to change the filter and trans fluid (after looking at what came out, it needed it) , and the car still seems to be stuck in seccond or third, well it changes up but not past either seccond or third.
The car has done 160,000 and we bought it at 130,000. its been a great car the whole time we have owned it.
Im not sure if maybe the gear selector switch might sole the problem or maybe I need to have the trans flushed
Hope someone can give a little direction on what needs to be done.
Cheers
Josh
Thanks guys
When it comes to transmission problems there is not much you can do yourself unless you know what your doing, and that is why you have no responses. It sounds like it could be a solenoid problem. The best thing to do is to take it to an auto specialist.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
yeah auto's are pretty complex, learnt in tafe last week that an issue with an auto gearbox can be the result of several different parts so its really hard to say what is wrong with your auto
it sounds like you need a new 1-2 soleniod, same thing happened to my old VS got a new soleniod put in and it was sweet as
