Hi my vt v6 is taking a long time to start and when it does it splutters around a bit and then idles correctly. i have changed the starter motor as the old one died, which helped the problem for a bit but has gone back to the way it was now. just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of things i could check...
thanks
Check your fuel pressure on startup. It sounds like what i've got, it has only come up a few times on this forum. Could be your fuel pressure regulator, simply your injector o rings, the fuel pump or a fuel line leak. The best way to be sure would be to do the pressure test and then go from there in sourcing the fault and diagnosing the problem.
Sounds like you could be on to something mate, will check the fuel pressure tomorrow
my vt was doing this aswell ended up being a leaking injector.... would fill a cylinder with fuel over the weekend (then play up )
sometimes though this fault is just a sign you need plaugs and a fuel filter
its worth a try anyway...
Also check the charcoal cannister purge solenoid it may be stuck open and the motor is sucking the vapour which it should only do once warmed up and whilst being driven at speed.
And how's your spark plug lead resistances?
