    Default Commodore VX S

    Hey everyone,
I'm new to these forums, just had my car sound completely re done and now I'm looking to make the actual car sound a bit more beasty.
I'm completely illiterate when it comes to cars so I have no idea what I need to do, but I'm assuming it has something to do with exhaust.. what's the best thing to do? how much will it cost? anyone know a good place in melbourne to go to?

    Cheers,
    All help is appreciated greatly!

    Cody

mate get extractors and a 2.5 inch cat back exhaust.. not sure about prices but after you done that if you want louder and beatier go a "hotdog" or straight pipe on the rear instead of the resonator

Leave it standard , Nothing sounds worse that a V6 with a loud exhaust .

My son has a VR Wagon. Typical vn to vs drone. He hates my VT wagon cause he cannot hear it from about 10 feet away. Reckons it is too quiet. Two things I like about my exhaust. Quiet and stainless steel. never rust. Third your idea of new wheels

Thinking of getting these 20s. Mates offering $1500, brand new. Suggestions?
This is for a Silver VX btw.
Also, dad didn't want me to doing any modifications or anything to the car because of something to do with the insurance.. Would putting these wheels on change anything/would I need to declare anything or what?
I'd just like to remind you all once again, i'm a complete nufty when it comes to this shit hahaha.

    Cheers.

    Codyy.... fristly welcome dude.

    Secondly keep the exhaust standard.

Third, 20's should be fine on the car but tyres will cost alot more than you think... however no all 20' rims are the same. It's the offsett(the distance between the centre of the hub to the outside/inside of the rims overall width) is the issue with our cars.

So if the rims in 8inch wide and the centre(where the rim butts up agiants the wheel hub) is in the middle you have 4inch either side... but if the centre is only 2 inch from the outside then you have 6inches on the inside of the wheel arch. Is that a problem I hear to say, well yes there is... as the rim + the tyre will hit the shock/spring tower. so not all 20's are the same so be warned.

Enjoy the car and don't overspend on it.

yeah i assumed everyone would be for the exhaust haha.
what would you get if it was one or the other cameron? exhaust or wheels?

also the $1500 is wheels + tyres.. not just the wheels.

cause everyone loves the v8 note so the v6 kinda gets left behind.

hard to say, when i got my s pack it had an exhaust already! if you have the shity s pack rims(16inch) then get the rims but if you have the 17inch ss rims like some s packs come with get the exhaust you wont regret either

i got pacemaker extractors with a 2.5 inch system with a single small muffler .... sounds whicked .... when its warm ... sounds very ... ting-e ( couldn't spell the word ... if it is a word ) but when its warm sounds like a total beast

mate if you wanna look good, go rims, if you wanna sound good, go exhaust ... either way if you do it properly its either $1100 for the full exuast system or $1500 for rims .... if it was me .... both =) haha

    p.s welcome bud

another thing i probs should consider is the fact it has around 290XXX k's done. Got it from my dad when he get his new car. He looked after it though, never fanged it or anything, so it doesn't really matter, but with that in mind same advice? I'm leaning towards the exhaust.. just coz its cheaper and Darcon666 guy made it sound erally complicated to get the wheels done.

Thats what it looks like at the moment, but yeah.
