    Default VT fuel pump

    Hi all
    I'm working on a VT at the moment. And it come in with a dead fuel pump.
    So we put a new fuel pump in it. And the fuel pressure is up at about 6 bar. 90 psi.
    Is this normal for a new fuel pump.

    waited for someone to reply. From the GMH service manual for VT Commodore

    High pressure pump fitted to V6 and V8 motors 21 grams/sec @ 350kpa +/- 5kpa

    supercharged V6 30 grams/sec @ 410kpa +/- 5kpa

    1 kilopascal = 0.01 bar. You do the math. Is it 350 kpa = 3.5 bar?

    holy crap, 90 psi is a bit high! I'm surprised your hoses haven't blown off or leaking at every join!

    Don't have specs with me, but I would have thought 40-50psi would be normal.

    350kPa = approx 50psi
    410kPa = approx 59psi

    Hey moose man, you are right. 90psi is almost double what the GMH service manual gives as normal. Sounds like a rolling fire hazard to me. here is a bit of interesting info re delivered fuel pressure. I have a copy of the Holden dealer parts news september-october 2008, the anniversary issue. The diesel engine driven fuel pump delivers up to 200,000Kpa I wonder why the fuel lines are all steel? And that's not a typo
