hey guys got a vt commodore. paid a mechanic to do a collant flush becuase i had to go on a road about 500 ks.
after doing many stop over once i got to my desentation my dad yelled out that my car was leaking.
it was dripping coolant, so i switched the car on and it stopped. switch it off and it drips out, the first time was like about 70 mils. now about 5 every couple of times i drive it...
now once i finish driving it smells like leaking coolant and if i idle it at night i notice like this steam like stuff comming unnder my bonnet and in front of my lights...its not hot or wet or anything its more like just fog?
any ideas?
was fine before the flush...![]()
Go back to the guy who did the flush and ask him what the problem is. Explain that the problem has only been since the flush was done. Obviously a leak. He should pressure test it to find said leak. Could be as simple as a hose or thermo gasket.
99% guarantee your heater core is rooted. Everything you described is what happened to me. steam, smell, leaking.
Have fun replacing that, i know i did.
