Alternator problems
The last couple of days i have noticed that the dash and headlights have not been as bright as they should be . This morning they were worse than normal and the motor was slower to crank over . On the way to work the alternator light flickered a few times then went out and the dash / headlights were back to their normal brightness . After knockiing off work i started the car and the alternator light came on a couple of times . a pushed on the B+ terminal to see if it was loose and it was so hot that it burned my finger . Just want to know why it would be so hot and why the lights went dim but the altenator light didn't come on . Just went out to start the car and the battery is totally flat . Looks like i might be up for a new altenator .
This all started after i pulled the altenater off to change the intake gasket .

most likely already checked, but if it only started after taking it off, are you sure everything has gone back on the correct way? also with engine running if you have a multimeter check what your readings are at the battery

heat means a loose or dirty connection at the hot area
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

OK thanks guys . Fixed the prob. When i jiggles the wire on the B terminal the revs dropped and the battery light flickered , pulled the altenator off , cleaned all the connections ,charged the battery over night and cleaned the terminals. installed everything now all is good . Thanks again, Dave C
