What can I do?
how deep is it?
as you can see in the video. just scratches. no depth from what I can see.
if you can barely get your nail caught in it, couldnt you try to cut and polish? worked on my front bumper of my calais
no way would that warrant a new bumper! its quite literally just a scratch! ive got a ding in my boot thats bigger than that and it only cost about 150-200 to fix!

Whats the details of the $900 quote? Is that to fully strip back, prep and respray the entire rear bumper?
the owner still hasnt given me the quote/s and sent that price figure via sms. its been like 3 weeks. I went to 3 different panel beaters and they all said it would cost $350 to completely sand back the bumper and respray it that exact colour. I requested to see the car again but the owner hasnt replied. told me to send my insurance policy number in a text message so they can give the quotes to my insurance agency....but i didnt do that, and I won't. I hit into the back of that car, but doing less than 5kms an hour in peak hour. One of the panel beaters said it could be a beaver bar thats bent - but how the hell could i bend any of the reinforcements in the bumper if i didnt even make a dint?
Do I have any rights?
Bumpers can bounce back after impact sometimes hiding damage, but the pictured ding doesn't appear to be much.
Maybe the bar has actually cracked?
its a ricer just burn it instead lol but yeah mate i would see if u can get more then one quote off him before giving him u insurance detail
I would do nothing. Wait for the the other driver to make a claim through their own insurance. They'll get in contact with you and take it from there. At least you'll know the real amount!
Legally your aloud to ask for three quotes and if a minium of three aren't shown, ( they must be from the workshop with each individual pricing,) you don't have to pay by your rights
how bad's your car lookin? lol
stupid rice burners
that is about how much they do charge.. as u goto think .. they have to take the bar off.. repair it (sand it back),, prep it and then paint it in the booth... as when i was working at a panel beaters i asked the boss how much it would cost me just to have 2 from gards painted in the booth all they had to do was color paint and he told me $300 just for white 2pac ( altho he was a bit of an A$$ hole and just bleed every one dry for money)..
also i seen some cars come in with less damage as that and still get a quote $500-900 and when it comes to insurance.. the panel beater tries to get the most money for the job...
is that 900 for the bar to get fixed or are they charging you the access they have to pay the insurance company to get the car fixed
relay by the looks of that it would just buff out... altho it is hard so see
and i know the panel beater will say they need to do all that work to it and relay they just buff it.. i Learned from experience
i say just leave it until the insurance company get a hold of you ( that's what i would do personally ) as you never know they may just be trying to get money from you

i got quoted 450 to respray a rear bumper with a 1mm chip in it..
it was a brand new car.
it was taken off.. sanded back to the base and resprayed (it was a new car so they had to use the good
stuff, 5 years warranty on it)
that was one of the best jobs you can get for a car... and it was under 500... the guy is prob getting the
other dings on his car repaired and trying to chrarge you for it, thats why he hsasnt given you the quote yet.
