Default VX II Commodore/Calais Belt Problem

My belt has chewed through the pulley it is meant to turn. I am a bit of a novice and not sure what is broken. the car still works the belt turns smoothly, it just doesn't turn the affected pulley. the car drives but I am guessing that it is a bad I idea to drive it like this. Can anybody let me know what it is that the pulley is attached to, and what do I need to do to repair?

This is an idler pulley - it is not connected to anything. You would need to get the pulley assembly replaced and replace the belt at the same time.

thanks for the advice. pulley and belt both now replaced. I have no idea how it happened, looks like this particular pulley was plastic and melted somehow - how the belt didn't wear out is amazing, it was still in what appeared like good condition, I replaced it anyway.
