Default Are HID lights worth getting ????

sorry if this has been already asked... but

as title says are HID hi/lo lights worth it in the stock ( tear drop head lights)..

as after a while i will go the after market projector lens with black background ( eBay ones ) or are there a better set to get

or the after market projector lens with black background and halo rings ( angel lights )

but really wanna know what to get first the HID Hi/Lo or the after market projector lens as i do a lot driving at night on high way/goat trials ( out bush ) and a lot of it is out where i need bright and clear lighting

what are you opinions about this

If you want to stay legal and not annoy people get better globes. If you want to go illegal and potentially dazzle oncoming motorists then by all means go HID.

Definitely not. Unless they came out with them from factory then it's a pretty exhaustive process to get them approved.

Nope HID's are illegal. Far too much chance to dazzle oncoming road users.

I also believe that the pure white lights i.e. HID's arent that great in the wet + night, a good well sorted phillips bulb is the best for all conditions. Plus HID's are the most annoying lights when the person coming towards you has them, please don't turn into a honda / BMW / Merc driver...

I was also thinking about this, in the end for $80 i got the narva brighter/clearer vision globes. They are much better, also got the headlight aimed at a panel shop (used the bosch machine) and every now people flash me LOL, that wasn't my highbeam HERES MY HIGH BEAM MOFO!

Depends what colour you get... If you get 4300K then it's white with a hint of yellow and they are better than halogen in all conditions. It's when you start moving up to 6000K plus and it starts changing to blue-purple range that they're not very effective.

The HID projectors in high end cars are not like HID aftermarket kits... The bright flickering and blue/purple colour with OEM projectors is you seeing the projector cutoff as the car goes over bumps. Aftermarket kits that replace H4/H1/etc in standard reflectors will just be MUCH brighter headlights and sometimes glare if the globe arc isn't in the same position as the filament of the halogen globe that is meant to be there.
