Ok to start with i have a VX berlina 2000, on gas, recently had the head gaskets replaced, new thermostat,
3 weeks later the engine light appeard for a few seconds, then went away, week later same thing, the next week it came on constantly, then the airbag light came on and beeped, mechanics said the tech 2 had no dn codes on it only the the gas code, got the car back, battery died, RAC mechanic said looked like the alternator was faulty,
Next, the rev meter would randomly go up and down or not work at all for a while, the oil light has also came on, took the car to holden, they couldnt figure it out they are saying its a problem with the gas and to take it to gas tech,
if anyone has any ideas at all would help a lot cheers,
Out of curiosity, disconnect the ABS module, the big red plug just behind battery. When mine was on the fritz it would randomly bring up airbag, ABS, and traction control lights, and it (very rarely) buggered about with my dash needles. I don't think there is a code for that, which could explain Holden not finding one. If the dash goes back to normal but the engine and ABS light stays on than that may very well be your problem.
Other than that......... ghostbusters?

I know someone who went down the same path, couldn't work it out for the life of them, ended up being the ABS module. Could also be your actual dash cluster.
bcm shot? have you check your comp for codes?
Making and running DUAL CHIPPED ECU SINCE 2010
sounds ABS like.
check to see if the A/C works when the problems occur.
Will check to see if the aircon works,
the abs light has never come on though? and no when the tech 2 was plugged in there was no codes in history or anything only the code for the gas, which is why autobahn and holden dont know,
one mechanic said its on the circuit of the body control module yer, but i assumed holden would of picked that up and fixed it yet they are pointing to the gas for some reason
when the light comes on my fuel injection goes to 0, and i get a little cross on the aircon display and the overspeed bit dont know if that makes a difference?
Like I said, just unplug the ABS module and see if that changes anything, it won't hurt anything to drive with it off (except have no ABS) and can be unplugged/plugged in 20 seconds.

try unplugging the ABS module as acarmody said.
alot of codes come up in the instrument cluster when ABS module is faulty, because it screws with the data between all the modules.
For the second time now, ive taken the car to get petrol after filling up, the battery wont start, did this 2 weeks ago at the petrol station the started fine for the next 2 weeks until i filled up again?
any ideas??
disconnected the abs wil have to wait till tomorro to see how we go
Ok so I dced the abs module te car ran good for 2 days then this morning tue airbag light was flashing fuel injection goes to 0 and the little cross in the overdosed box is there, what else can it be now
The bcm? Or can it have anything to fonwith my
LPG system
How old (+ condition) is the battery? Batteries don't much like being discharged (mischarged).
hey mate not exactly sure, but there is corosion on the battery terminals, and the problem is a voltage issue, because ive noticed when it starts, if i wind my window down, the taco goes, leading me to think theres a lack of voltage somewhere, i just replaced the alternator (second hand one), so mayb its time for a new battery you think?
