    Default o2 sensor?

ok besides my starting problems ive been having with my VT, that ive been told is my fuel pump, because the fuel pressure drops after the car turns off.
The check engine light has been been coming on for about 2 weeks i get the error code 63? which i think is the o2 sensor, if its rooted what happen with my car eg will it idle rough or use more fuel etc will it stop going? as money is tight at the moment and i can only fix one thing at a time so do i fix the fuel pump ( quoted $260) or the o2 sensor (have no idea how much?)

was talkin to a mechanic today he reckons do the fuel pump first because the sensor might be fine and the car might just been running lean or rich because of the stuffed fuel pump and making the sensor log an error code??

There's a fuel pressure regulator there for a reason...
If its logging an o2 code, its because the o2 isn't sendig the right signal. Pump might well be shagged, but that wont change what the o2 does.
