    guys i did replace my ignition leads with 8.8 m TOPGUN ..... is it alright if i covered all ignition leads from head to toe with a 10 mm plastic tubes??????????????? to protect them from heat.

    you talking about the ribbed tubing with the split down the side? yes that is fine to do

    yes mate they do coz the shit Holden design is meant to let the 3 driver side wires to be under the alternator. on my car my old leads are covered with a big plastic tube for these 3 wires under alternator so i decided to separate each with a 10 mm plastic tubes bought from super-cheap for the driver side and the passenger side now they look great.. lol.. so now they wont touch any heated areas at all. coz once it touched a heated spot you'll see a white powder shit on the wire which means its burned out.

    make sure you use the heat shield from the old leads if you still have them

    yeah mate i did install my old ones with the news wires as well. i swear to god i remember once i left 1 without a heat shield just for testing and after 550 km its was baked.

    lol i guess im lucky then, i got rid of the black plastic, and havnt used the little metal tube shaped heat shields, for over 125,000 kms now

    LOL i threw away my black tubing under the alternator cause its cracked and fell apart. have not had one for ages. yet i replace my leads every 40,000 just cause i can
