Brake lights not working on my VT. Replaced the fuse & lights worked. A day later & the brake lights arent working. Have noticed that when the brake pedal is pressed down there is a sound like air being forced out. Please help.

id check the fuse again as there could be a short in the wiring somewhere, and that noise from the brake pedal is normal too

Thanks for the replies. Have had the car for over a year and pads were replaced then. Didnt seem to have a problem with the brake lights until just recently. Will get the fuses checked out.

How can replacing brake pads ever have any influence on the operations of the brake lights !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for your problem(s), check fuse, establish that wiring has a GOOD earth, check wiring that there are no shorts or fractures etc.

Coincidence only... something else is wrong, not the pads.

As suggested check the fuses and/or earth... also might be good to check the ABS sensors on the hubs as this is the only electrical thing close to the brakes, but can't see how that would cause this problem.
