    Default Fuel comp

I was driving on the highway and on my dash said it was 12.2L to a 100km it seems a bit high doing 100 on cruise control, it's going i'n for a service tomorrow;getting coolant flushed, new oil filter, oil and rocker cover gaskets, would it be good to get a new fuel filter?

I change fuel filter every 20,000k's, only costs around ten bucks.

Ummmm.... you don't mention 6 or 8(5.0 or 5.7...) or if this was the average, so....

    12.2ltr/100km in a V8 = OK
    12.2ltr/100km in a V6 = Excellent/good

P.S I do believe that while on "Cruise control" it uses more fuel than using your foot, even more so on a 6 @ speed.

    Just my 0.000002c...

I'm getting 13l/100 around town so something is off for you. my last highway drive netted me a very nice 8l/100.

Yer mines lucky to be at 14L i'n the city, so I think fuel filter might be flooded with crap, and a service should improve it abit as well

Dont forget, that 12.2l/100km figure is from last time you reset computer. So if you;ve driven 150kms already around town, then jumped on freeway, it will be much higher. Best way to tell your freeway usage is fill up, then jump straight on freeway for a long drive (atleast 25kms) and reset the trip meter. i got 7.8l/100kms driving from melbourne to apollo bay down the great ocean road in my 6cyl VXII
