you cant. youll need an auto elec to reset the computer and that will remove the light. if it reappears it may be a more involved problem.

Airbag light is a common problem on VT's. Resetting the pcm wont achieve anything. The light is usually caused by a faulty srs module which is located under the centre consol or the clockspring which is fixed to the back of the steering wheel. The airbag itself is usually not the cause of the fault. I'd be replacing the srs module and if this doesn't fix it then replace the clockspring.

If the car is for road use then it is likely that your vehicle will be unroadworthy until such time as the error code related problem is reso;ved. As your vehicle was built with air bags in order to comply with ADR's (Australian Design Rules) in all probablity they may no longer function (as designed to do) in the event of a collision. Also, consider the occupants of your vehicle who may no longer be afforded the life saving intervention of an air bag if circumstances are such as to trigger it/them.

I had the same problem and turns out the airbag module was faulty. Was quoted $470 for a replace and install. Does anyone know if this is a rip off or know where i can get a better price in melbourne?

IMO airbag jobs should only be done by Professionals.May be chaeper to buy the part from ebay an see how much they charge just for an install.
