Hi I am considering getting a lukey 2.5in cat-back system without the rear resi and i was wondering if anyone in NSW with this setup has been fined for it being too loud. I know it will attract alot more police attention but as long as its still legal I don't mind that much.
Cheers
Hey mate, welcome.
I'm from Vic but I doubt it will be different. You don't get "fined" for being to loud per se, you get a letter telling you to have it tested at an authorised exhaust place and for that to happen normally means your up for a new exhaust, that's why i said per se, because although there was no fine, you usually have to buy an exhaust.
As for your 2.5 with no rear resi.... It will be to loud for sure, Most aftermarket systems are way to loud off the bat. I had a Redback 2.5 w/out rear resi and that was way to loud, had to put a full stock system on it to shut it up, cost me like 350ish. I ended up buying a nice rear resi to fit permanently to the old exhaust and I haven't had an problems since.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies. I think i'll go ahead with the install and keep the old pipes just in case.
FYI guys, it's not just the police that can issue the EPA notices, anybody can contact the EPA to put you in. Even if you pass the test, it still costs you between 30 and 50 dollars.
