Rear Garnish Conversion

I've been wanting to do this and i was wondering if i can swap the vx berlina/calais garinsh with the more "square" lights onto my VT Berlina

Or to use the VTII with the clear indicator cover, and use a amber bulb changing the guard indicator too

you can put the vx berlina garnish onto a vt no probs but if you have a s1 vt and want to put in s2 vt taillights you have to change the taillight looms wich will take about 3 mins

Ill probably change it to the S2 lights but ive found orange lights with the samee pins

get the garnish painted, looks mint as ( got it on mine) and then get diff tail lights for $200 or less. (on mine too)

nar i like the boot garnish, i just dont like the orange to clear

if i connect a wire from driver side reverse light to passenger side, will this half the output of the light? If so, i will get auto elect to run wire from boot to passenger side.

i wired the drivers side reverse to the passenger side and its still heaps bright. i have monaro tail lights though. not sure about the calais lights though.

if you just swap from series one to two tail lights you dont have to change any loms, i did it and its just a simple swap job... changing to vx or monaro ones is a different story though
