vt alternator regulator

hey,
I need some help, i conneceted my alternator regulator wired around the wrong way and i think i have stuffed the wiring along the line to the dash warning light,
The globe is fine, but it doent turn on when you put the 'reds' on.
I replaces the inline fuse thats on the wire fron the battery to the regulator, but i cant seem to easily trace the wiring to the dash.
I have found in the workshop manuals that ts the regualtor wiring circut thats stuffed but i dont have volume 6 which has the diagrams in it and im a bit stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.
