noise coming from fuel tank

i have a noise coming from my fuel tank like a humming could this just be a fuel pump on the way or is this common

Well considering there is only the pump and fuel in the tank, you had better hope its the pump. Otherwise you got some goddamn crazy fuel in that tank.

Yeah quite common, mine died about 1.5 years ago. Like all things, it will die sooner or later. Or it can die very fast if you run out of fuel.

I got my fuel pump replaced couple weeks ago but before i had to fixed it sounded like a huge mosquito coming from the fuel tank now its dead quite. I would get it repaird as soon as you can as they can die on you very quickly mine was on its last legs. It cost me $300 to fix but its well worth it, knowing you wont break down on a dodgy dark road coming home from work from a dead fuel pump.

Sorry I can't remember the price, it was a while back. And it can be installed fairly easily in your backyard if you have so ramps and pretty decent with some tools. All I remember was that it was cheaper to get a genuine unit from Holden than go to Repco, but I get trade price.

did you change it your self ? as i will probably get a mechaninc to do something like this for me lol

i'had a mate give me a hand hes done a few of them you have to drop the tank and pumps on top

Its not too hard to do it yourself, but the job will be a million times easier with some ramps and a mate to help. Also if you plan on doing it yourself, then drive till the fuel light is on, having a 70kg tank drop on your face tends to ruin your day.
