    Default New Rims

    Hi,
I have a VX Executive Series 2. I'm only 17 and still at school til the end of the year. I'm looking at putting 19" Prowlers on it. I was just wondering if I would have to lower my car? Or make any other changes to either make it look better or just so that it fits better? Better pic of the rims is on here: </title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen, print, projection" href="common.css"></link> <script type="text/javascript" src="ie_noclick.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="hznwheeltemplate"> <div id="wheeltemplate"> <ul id="sitem

You dont HAVE to do anything else. But knocking some height off the car will always make it look better, however 19" wheels plus lowered springs WILL make for a rough ride.

Beyond your stock height the options will be 'low' springs or FE2 which is lower, but only noticable to people who know how cars look.
Then theres 'super low' which is much lower than stock and probably the most common height. It will definitly look lowered and if setup correctly will still be legal. There will be some rear tyre wheel arch scrapping with this setup.
Next is 'ultra low' which is consoderably lowered. Afaik it will render the car illegal and will cause quite a few complications with the ride.... ....but it looks shit hot.
And last but not least you can put adjustable in, you can leave your car at whatever height you like but i beleive the setups can be fairly pricey.

If lowering becomes an option make sure you install a 4pt camber kit, you will rip through your rear tyres in 5000 k's other wise. As you have a S2 vx I think you may have the toe arm but this wont be enough to solve the problem lowereing will have on the arse end.

Ok so if I put 18" on should I still lower it and will it still be a rough ride? If I do put 19" on how can I avoid having a ROUGH ride? Also how can I avoid the scrapping you were talking about?
    Thanks

You can avoid scraping by making sure you find the correct offset wheel.
I have ultralows in my VY, with 20's (VY Sigs) it NEVER used to rub, then I swapped the 20' Sigs for a set of 19" VE Supersports, and now it rubs.

The lower you go, the rougher the ride will be. It all depends on the brand of springs, what shocks, etc... I dont know about others out there, but in my VY I am running Kings SL's in the front on standard shocks and SSL's in the rear with standard shocks... (I will be raising the rear to SL's very soon because of the rubbing)
Best thing you can do is scour the forums and ask some questions to others that have different setups, maybe have a look at some photo's, etc... to get an idea of what you like your car to look like.
It all comes down to personal prefrence.

It will but at the end of the day, a V8 sound is a V8 sound hehehe. No substitute.
Check youtube out, do a search on "V6 Exhaust note" There are a few nice sounding V6's out there but nothing like the "original" V8 note.

Btw... does "Pivo" stand for what I think it stands for?

nah dude, if you have a 6 banga you should avoid exhausts like the plague.

Maybe if you can justify it being there, e.g. you have an L67 with some serious work done to it.

on a stocker though its really not a good thing to have, however ive been your age before so i know im wasting my breath, enjoy your exhaust kiddo
