Aftermarket alarm system

Hi there,

My remote key has stopped working 2 days ago and I went to get a new key head and they said its going to cost me 300$.
Is it possible to fit an aftermarket alarm system with keyless entry? because I've managed to get it for 50$.

Goto Mr.Minit and get a key from there.. They are around $150-$160

You can get an aftermarket alarm but it will probably false with the commodore energy saver circuit.
also you will need to bypass the keyreader security feature
spend the $300 and accept cars cost money to maintain

do you just need the electronic side of your key or the actual metallic bit of the key itself? just thinking out loud, but can't you get a replacement electronic/black bit of the key off ebay or something, and exchange it with your original metallic bit of the key?
