Default vt v6 to v8 conversion arghhh!

this is doing my head in
iv been looking for hours and wasted about half the day looking through old posts to find a list of parts i will need to change my vt v6 calais to a 304.
all i can find is people saying its to hard dont bother, isnt this a car forum, dont we enjoy working on cars. weres the spirit, weres the fun in just buying anothere car.
i bought a smashed 5L vt for 2 grand and iv pulled off:

    fuel tank
    engine
    tranny
    comp
    diff
    tailshaft
    aircon hoses
    power steering hoses
    tacho

the thing is the neighbours want this wreck off my lawn so im pulling everything i need of it and getting rid of it. but i dont want to find out latr that i needed something of it cause it will cost.
    so...
can anyone please help me out with a list of things il need to remove before she gets cubed.

    will i need
    power steering rack?
    brake booster?
    master cylinder?
    calipers?
    abs module?
    shocks and springs?
    fuse box?
    ect..

ps the kframe is knackered but suspension is ok sept for the rubbers.

You will need dash, ecu, bcm, wiring looms, exhaust, fuel lines, radiator and hoses, auto trans and cooler lines, shifter?. or manual gearbox, diff, tailshaft, steering rack and hoses, brakes, brake booster and master cyl, heater hoses, aircon pipes, k-frame, front springs, gearbox crossmember and probably a lot more.
look at the two cars and grab anything that is in a different place or looks different in any way

Firstly I hope you own the home you are living in and it's not the nature strip... NO, keep stripping it down to a bare shell and tell the neighbours politely that it will be gone as fast as you can.

Otherwise it's a YES!!!.... Then, it depends how nice or nasty you want to be... so... here are just some suggestions, in decending order of niceness:-

    • Tell your neighbours that it's for parts to fix you real ride and it will be gone as soon as you can strip it down.
    • Ask your neighbours to help you strip it so you can get rid of it sooner, get their/neighbourhood kids to help you, make it a fun thing to do.
    • Be polite... but let them know that they have no say what you have on your lawn.
    • Not on good terms... Ignore them, don't even acknowledge that they exist when they are talking to you.
    • Laugh at them when they ask/suggest/demand/ whatever to get rid of the vehicle.
    • Tell your neighbours to frack off and mind their own fracken business.(Provided the said "Vehicle" is on your "PRIVATE" property) and remind them... you don't tell them what to do with their property.

The only people can tell you to remove the vehicle(Again, it's on your private property) is the local council and not your neighbours.

just a couple things, do you think its 100% nesascary to swap bcm and power steering rack?
plus im told by many that the brakes, booster and master cylinder are all the same and need not be changed. does this sound right?

Brake calipers might be slightly bigger but as far as I know the master cylinder and booster are the same. Might as well rip them out in case though and if you don't use them, sell them. You will either need to change your BCM or send your car to Holden on a tow truck because the BCM and ECU need to be paired to each other. If you're changing the BCM you'll also need to use the key heads from the other car too.

You will need someone with a Tech 2 to marry your existing BCM with your new ECU. Either a mobile mechanic or a tow truck will be required because unless the two are linked the car will not start.

Failing that, tell them you have the Battlestar Galactica targeting their house :P

But dead right, neighbours have no right to ask you to move it off YOUR lawn. If they take massive aversion to a man, for all intents and purposes, recycling. They can go to council, then get laughed out, so long as it's not on the road, they don't have a leg to stand on.
