    980km wtf?
Best I've seen out of my SS is 11.2/100. Mixture of town and highway. Which is fairly reasonable, given the power difference between an LS1 and an ecotec I would pay for the slight difference in economy any day.

Only for the first week, you get used to it eventually and the novelty wears off, especially when you go to fill it up.
I'd just rather have the option there, because there is no point putting your foot down in an v6 powered car.

I drive my VX SS fairly quietly, even though I have not really worked out my consumption around town I suspect it would be returning around the mid teens, 14 to 16lt per 100 km,
that is in average traffic with a lot of stop start. I have however worked it out several times on the highway, we have in-laws that live in Northern Victoria and we do a 500km round trip every 6 weeks or so, I sit on the speed limit and set the cruise to 100 or 110 depending on the speed limit and every time I have worked it out by refilling after the trip and calculating the litres used it nearly always comes out at pretty close to 10 lt per 100km on the highway, by the fuel gauge it always has a good solid 1/4 tank of fuel showing when we get back home. The car is completely standard, exactly as it was when I bought it new, and has only done 68,000km.
So they are brilliant on the highway, but a bit average around town.

    Yeah that sounds about right.
You might find with a free flowing exhaust that your high way economy will probably improved.

Haven't had mine long, afaik everything is stock. I've only filled it three times now. Generally 90-10 split highway - town
    75L Tank normal petrol
823km I was very light on the pedal early on though only travelling 90km/h on the highway due to the different sensation of speed compared to the high driving position in my old 4WD, and being night time in the rain the first time I drove it.
756km (more town driving in this one)
    775km

At the moment I'm working down from over 14l/100. Now at 11.2l/100. That's 70-30 highway/city split. still dropping.
