it all depends mate, what kind of look are you into?
the price difference isn't that large anymore as they are both getting on in years.
you will most likely find a vt with lower k's then a vs though.
both engines and running gear are pretty much the same beside a few upgrades from the vs to the vt.
have a look around mate, a good condition one is bound to come up.
but personally i would go vs only because i am bias.

    yeah fair enough mate, i was looking into a 1997 - 2000 vt commodore, around $3,000 - $8,000.
would you suggest i buy it done up or do it up myself? like i just want nice rims, good stereo etc

A VT for sure, they have better handling, better brakes and are a far safer car to be in should you be in an accident. If you can afford it the VX series 2 is a little better followed by a VY better again and safer/stronger car with more standard features.

I would go VT but as above they are nearly the same apart from looks.

Positive to having a VS would be cheaper parts from VN-VP-VR-VS where as with the VT parts will be more expensive as there is less in wreckers and peoples back yards.

Just go with what you like the looks of better or the best deal you can find.

ill challenge you on that, i drove a vs while looking for a car, it was a less comfy ride, higher ride, the vt you sit lower, if you get a optioned up acclaim or berlina etc more features,

but it all depends on the car, all varies

vt all the way, vt's interior shits all of the vs's interior anyway, plus they handle better, drive comfier and brake better.

no competition to me really. i had a choice to by a vs or a vt after test driving both the vt shits all over the vs in every department. i think vs's are ugly (the utes look alright) but i dono what the other guy said about rattling heaps. my vt doesn't have a rattle at all, and vt's speedo works
