hi guys
thought id start a new thread cause the old one got a bit off topic but..
if im putting a 5L in my v6 vt calais
than how oh how do i keep my fancy calais dash?
im tippn it goes like this:
plonk motor in (easy)
slap 5L auto ECU from donor car (non calais)
replace v6 calais dash with 5L calais dash
then wave magic wand (tech2)
and bada bing!
reckon this is right or will i have to get a 5L calais ECU, 5L calais BCM and 5L calais dash
to make it a goer?
u'll just need 2 get the cluster calibrated 2 suit the 5L with the tech 2.

awww nice
so i dont need to get a new cluster or bcm?
is that for reals?!
will the tacho and temp gauge then work with the 5L?
u wont need a new cluster no, after its been recalibrated 2 suit it'll will work the same way it did b4. As 4 the BCM do u know if the 5L and ur own BCM is a low, mid or high BCM? should b written on the BCM itself. ur calais should b a high BCM

says high.
hows does that help me?
thanks again for helping me out mate
oops sorry
vt calais v6 one is high
vt v8 one is low
just means ur high BCM has more features inside it being a calais. so if u use the low BCM u may lose some features. wat, i couldnt say exactly so u may need 2 find out if u can use ur own ECU and BCM still with the 5L loom and wiring.

where would i find that out?
Is it just the memcal in the ECU that is different? - can you slot the V8 memcal into the Calais ECU? (thats what you can do in the VN/VP cars)

and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
oooh that sounds much easier.
how would i find out for sure?
who would i ring?....a holden technician?
