im having a problem with my vx ss where whenever im traveling on the highway i hear a wobble kind of noise similar to the sound of a washing machine on a spin cycle, it comes and goes but is usually able to be heard over 90km the steering remains straightso i dont think anythings been warped. I wondering what this might me and what costs to fix, could it be wheel bearings? im not sure but it sounds to me like its coming from the front and just afew months ago i had the front rotors and pads replaced might it be a problem caused by that?
Cheers
Make sure that your wheel nuts are done up to the correct torque and that your tyres are inflated to the correct pressure. Also, sometimes when tyres are getting worn (but still roadworthy) they can make a noise that sounds like a wheel bearing problem. See if you can get a lend of some other wheels with near new tyres to determine if that's the cause.
I'd be almost certain it's just your tyres. See if you can determine if it's front or rear of the car, rotate the tyres and see if there's any change.
If it is the tyres I don't think there's not much you can do apart from replacement.
