General exhaust question?

Hey guys just doing some digging around the net and i came across videos of peoples cars who have had their rear resonator removed.

I already have a Redback 2.5" muffler on my auto VX and i was wondering if removing the rear resonator would make it a little bit louder?

Ive got no clue when it comes to exhausts so any help would be great

It will make it louder, but you'll get a heap more drone.

yeah if you want a bit more sound just remove the rear resonator.
My car had extractors with a 2.5inch exhaust system with only middle muffler. After a while i wanted something proper loud and got a dump tip and replaced middle muffler with a very long hotdog muffler.

Probably a stupid question, but how do i go about taking out the resonator? :P

Can/do i leave my redback muffler on there too?

Cut the rear muffler off with a grinder and weld a piece of pipe in its place. And yes you can keep your middle muffler.

Just remember you will have a constant drone as mentioned. gets annoying after a while on a freeway lol

i have a vt with a 2.5 catback with no rear resonater and i only get drone when ovetaking on highways, cruising at 110 i get no drone at all

I had a 2.5" exhaust on my VU S ute with no rear resonator and I didnt find the drone excessive or annoying, In fact I loved the way my ute sounded and it often got compliments

Must be a VN - VR Buick thing, have a 2.5" cat back no rear res and just drones, good thing though puts little ones to sleep lol

my car drones a bit with the system i have on mine, but it grumbles and burbles when it drones thanks to the long hotdog in the middler haha. Highway is fun, just gott aturn up the music abit, however found it if i take my foot off the throttle when im doing 105km/h, as it decelerates down to 95 it makes flutter and burble sounds out the back HAHA great for a 6

Im just a bit sus about cutting and welding things if i dont end up liking the sound of it lol. Thinking maybe putting some small flanges on the pipes incase i want it back on/get shit off the police :P
