Hi anyone got anyhints on over heating of av 6 supercharge. If water is flowing constanly out of bleeding valve on theomostat when open does this mean theomostat is working ?
There are 3 bleed points on the L67... make sure they all have coolant coming out when released.
However they are not an indication that the thermostat is working.
When you turn on the car, put the dash into diag mode, and watch the water temp rise from cold. If its just a steady rise (idling) from 80-104 when the low fan will cut in, then you may have thermostat problems. If you see it fluctuate a bit, around the mid 90s, then usually that means your thermostat has opened somewhat.... still no guarantee thats its 100%. You won't know that unless you pull out the thermostat, inspect it and chuck it in a pot of water on the stove and watch it open.
hit i had the same prob with my wh super 6 ,take ur thermo fans off and check radiator for signs of leaks, i went to the effort of replacing the head gaskets, and every hose and realised after all of that my radiator has a slight leak (but the car never smelt like coolant and never had a drip of cooland under it
