My trusty VT's Air Handler decided to fail recently. What's happened is, the direction has locked onto DEMIST windscreen mode, which I never use. Just want to lock it back onto 'face'
Can anybody tell me where to start pulling the dash aprt to get to just that direction-box?

keep searching the forums for threads mate, there are plenty of them.

But to answer your question in short...
remove the kick panel on the center console in the driver's side footwell.

you should immediately see 2 White Actuators... the one closest to the firewall is "foot" controller.
however the one closest to the ciggie lighter port is the "Face" actuator.( to check: the one with the both the Green and white vacuum hoses are connected to). the system uses both in sync to complete the circuit to change for all functions. ie Dedicated Face, Dedicated Feet. or a combination of Feet and Face, Face and Demist and so on.
a quick fix is to disconnect the lever to the "Face" Actuator and move the lever manually by hand. just squeeze the tabs on the Black lever and slightly pull the White Actuator down carefully.

look more into the problem though. as i had the same problem. in mine the "Face" Actuator was just laying on the floor behind the dash. I had to put new screws in and fix it back to the dash so it would activate the lever once again.
