    Lightbulb vt head rest dvd player needs source of constant power

    need help,have been trying to install a set of headrest dvd players and can not find a source of constant power,have hooked up the earth and acc power through cigarette lighter but cannot find a source for contant power??? can anyone help.

    best and safest bet would be to run a new wire direct to the battery positive terminal and install an in-line fuse. Saves on adding even more load to an existing circuit and ensures a good connection to prevent voltage drop and draining the battery too much. It can be a little fiddly finding a hole in the firewall or running it through the sideskirts and up through the door seal, but it's probably worth it.

    Do the job right the first time and you won't have many headaches.

    I have a set in my Calais and they are just powered off the electric seats, they are powered fulltime and the wire is already there ready for tapping into. Hopefully you have electric seats!

    hey darrin , for all the crap in the vt i just ran wire to the fuse panel and crimped it all into a blade terminal then into the fuse panel of a spare fuse...like power windows...as i dont have power windows.
