Hi all,
I have this probelm with our VT V6 Eco tech and just wondering if any one else there knows why or has experienced it:
at idle, press the accelerator and the car doesnt to stagger a bit till the revs reach 2000rpm, them it takes off as it should. It occurss either when engine is cold or hot.
I have changed the fuel filter, air cleaner and have replaced the injectors ( the mechanic did them).
I have cleaned the wires senses ( did not toauch them, just sprayed them with the nulon carby injector cleaner. I also cleaned the IAC motor( the little black thing that sits on top of the throttle body.
There are no air leaks and I have replaced the splugs ( tried them at 1.5 and 1.4mm... problem still occurs
>>>. dont know why still occuring... HOWEVER when the car is the problem dissapears
Does any one have a clue??/ .. Di I need to replace a sensor?? if so which one??
Regards
Sam

Maybe bad news brother but sounds to me like a flogged torque convertor hope I am wrong.
coil packs could be the problem.
mine are doing that at the moment have not had the time to replace them yet.
but it may be the torque converter so not to sure :P
hope this helped
open hood
grab throttle cable AT the throttle body
pull throttle slowly open
does it stick a little just as you pull it? (from its fully closed position e.g. no accelerator at idle)
if so clean throttle body
does the car hesitate in nuetral if you rev the engine?
if so does it misfire under load? (in gear foot on brake accelerate a little till back end sqaauts you shouldnt feel a shudder)
has the fault occured since any work was done to it? (at all like did anything happen then fault started)
does it get worse cold or hot?
does it rev but wont accelerate (when in gear moving punch the accelerator)?
check these and we will continue to hunt fault if you find one of above is happening post it you may not need to check other things!~
Have you checked the throttle position sensor it could be faulty. Apart from that check the resistance of each of your apark plug leads.
I had this same problem. It went away when I put a new battery in.
new leads and second hand coil pack fixed mine.
I have tried a new battery and so far its ok. will let you know if it occurs agaon. Thanks for your help all!!
so a new battery fixed the problem???
hmm would suspect loose battery terminals or dirty terminals if that fixed it cause you car basically runs off the altenator while your driving
for the battery to cause these faults you would probably be jump starting it every morning!~
but anyways alls well that ends well i guess!~
