Hey guys, while i'm very novice about car workings i've got a spot of bother.
Tonight i lowered my vx onto ultra lows and chucked some 20's on it, i drove it around the block, taken it home and parked it and all was well. However, i went to get in it ten minutes ago and at first the car wouldn't lock into any gears and when i went to accelerate it'd just rev, nothing more. We jacked up the car and put it back down and it selected a gear and reversed it back about 300 mil and i heard a loud clunk sound and then a rattling sound, i couldn't tell if it was the axle or the diff, it's not a gear box problem though.
I was just wondering if anyone had a diagnosis for what may be happening?
(Sorry I'm sure you guys must facepalm about all the kids that do this) but I've tried googling and searched back 5 pages and couldn't find anything to help. any and all constructive feedback is welcome.
Actually the problems been found, the drive shafts have been popped out, if i put them in will it be sweet or will i need to buy new ones? Can anyone please give me the low down on how this works sorry![]()
put them back in but check the clips first but somethig aint right if they have came out after ya drove it unless ya were lucky to get the first drive in.
I would personally take it to a diff shop and get them to have a look at it. If that happens at a bad time it could cause an accident.

when you lowered your car, did you lower the diff 75mm before trying to remove the old springs? or did you just undo the shock and swing off the control arms until the spring would come out?
If thats the way you did it you would of put heaps of pressure on the CV joints possibly ripping the cv boots and by the sounds of it popping the shaft/s out from the diff
The drive shafts are only held in to the diff by a small ring/clip on the end of the shaft, pop them back in give it a light tap with a mallet until its all the way home, i would also check the cv boot for sign's of damage if you have a ripped boot it will dry the joint out and eventually cause it to fail.
Make sure the stub shaft splines have no burrs on them, other wise they will not go in to the side gears in the diff.
