i searched through the threads on here for months now trying to work out the problem with my car,
The problem is that when ever i go to start it i have crank it for about 10 seconds to get it to kick over, i was told to start with that it was the metal ring on my ignition that the key touchs causing a problem with the immobiliser so i replaced that. $80
Then the problem was still there so they tested the fuel pump and said it was stuffed (also got a 2nd opinion, they agreed) so i replaced that $300
the problem was still there and i was told it was my battery and it had a stuffed cell because after fully charging it after afew cranks it would drop way down in volts, also was getting an error code for the o2 sensor code 63 they said it would be because of the battery because if it drops below 9v they can log false codes? anyway put a new battery in today $160 and the starting prob is still there
so WHY THE F#CK WONT MY CAR START NORMALLY![]()

Hey, I have a vs comm..recently had that exact same blasted problem!!!! I FEEL YOUR PAIN....mate I checked error codes and threw back crank angle sensor (the part cost $90 Repco or go ebay should pick one up around $50-$60)..I had replaced fuel filter thinking that was the problem to begin with and realised it was on back to front so put a new one on, fuel pump generally makes a whirring noise at the rear of your car as you turn ignition before starting, this means she's working fine...sorry you replaced yours but now you know it's perfect) I believe this about the battery as I have had to jump it plenty of times due to one head knock after another so my battery is extremely low in volts and am having troubles everywheres...its going bonkers.
Also threw back o2 sensor which as you know we have 2 of them and I only have one at the moment really I dont know whether to put one on first or wait. So, get that done too. Another code thrown was BCMU-Ive noticed of late my car starts since getting cas fixed however it now turns all accessories on but nothing...nothing..geez well start it again like 4 times then crank...ya wat? I havent solved your prob, I hope I have given you a few things to look at tho...cheers bud and good luck)
Now imagine the facial expressions behind this 'car yard' !!
wife went out to holwood wreckers here in cowra to get a cheap o2 sensor to try out and the old prick out there threw her out because she had our 11 month old son in the office when she went to pay for the part and he kept saying mum , mum, mum while some other old #### was on the phone. He told her to #### off outta there with that thing..............will not be going out there again unless it to flog the old ####
if the computer in your car drops below 9volts it WILL set FALSE codes like o2 sensor voltage low
blah blah blah
in your case you turn the key and it doesnt crank for ten seconds?
is any lights on the dash flashing? this could mean immobiliser fault (i know u replaced the reader)
if no lights i would go to an auto electrician and ask him to test the starter motor as it sometimes is SLOW TO ENGAGE
he will probably say the solenoid is sticking and replace it. this fault normally happens at high kilolmeters and is normally worse when car engine is hot
it will also resemble a low battery fault
the 02 sensor fault is likely another fault seperate from the first else you would have a code for each sensor!~
