We have just bought a 1998 VT from a dealer. Part of the sale was that the AC got fixed before we picked it up.
So, picked the car up and dealer said the AC was simply out of gas and had been regassed. Thought this was strange as the gas just doesn't run out over time.
AC worked for one day, then stopped getting cold and started hissing when it was turned on.
Took it back yesterday and replaced some sort of filter which was apparently blocked inside and regassed it.
AC worked on the trip home, but today once again its not getting cold and hissing again.
I've called the dealer and he says his AC man said theres nothing else wrong with it, it was all checked out and ok. Clearly this is not the case!
I'm going to take the car back later this week, as this is not really my problem. BUT the car seems to have a lot of road/engine noise coming from the centre of the dash, maybe the air vent area. I'm wondering if maybe the two could be related?
Has anyone got any ideas?
